Amanda’s Tallit

#imagebox#

Amanda wanted a traditional style tallit, and found a stunning pink/purple fabric that looked beautiful on her. She had originally wanted a white tallit, but loved this color so much that we used the white for a middle stripe, corners and the atarah. The tallit fringed a very special blue, and we somehow found that exact blue in another fabric, so made additional stripes from it. Then – we decided on a beautiful cotton batik that had all of the other colors in it, for a small stripe in between the others. Her corners and atarah were the white on top of the batik, with thread that matched the fringe. On the ends of her Atarah, we embroidered Chamsas with hearts in the center, as her Hebrew name is Ahava – love. As a final touch, we found blue matching fibers for the tzitzit and wrapped white with blue.
