Amy’s Red Chinese silk tallit
Amy’s mother had made her an atarah for her Bat Mitzvah, just a few decades ago, but Amy needed a tallit to put it on. The atarah itself is a beautifully embroidered, very long atarah. Amy wanted something unique and a bit wild, so chose a deep red Chinese silk with dragonflies. She also wanted 8 unusual corners that described her. My favorite were the 3 matryoshka dolls (because her grandparents are from Russia), all with different colored hair and eyes to represent her mom, herself and her granddaughter (as Amy has only sons). Amy’s favorite corner is the one with tea and cookies!
