Brian’s Tallit

Brian’s mom found me online, and told me that Brian wanted a beach scene with mountains and specific nautical animals such as dolphins and crabs.  He liked the feel of Missy’s tallit with the water, mountains, an ark in the distance, and palm trees. He also wanted the scene to look like it was a part of a Torah scroll. He drew me a sketch that you can see below. After several photos and emails of various fabrics, he chose a dupioni that had tiny stripes, not seen from a distance. I appliquéd animals on, either from fabrics, or from printing them on silk. I included a few of the photos that I sent so that they could choose their fabric for the sky, mountains, tree, placement of crabs,….
