Emmett’s Surfer tallit

Emmett’s grandmother, with a little help from her daughter, Emmett’s mother, designed his tallit for him and kept the design a total surprise! He’s a surfer (left scene), plays tennis (far right corner), was born during Chanukah (far left corner), and has a black lab whom he loves (right scene). The tallit body, a kind of beautiful sea green, is a very interesting silk fabric (named shambala) woven from 3 kinds of silk: tussah, jitta and noil. The purple atarah and corners were dupioni silk.

Emmett’s grandmother wanted his atarah to say Emet V’emunah (truth and faith) – what better phrase for a young man named Emmett?
