Gobi Desert / Jerusalem Tallit

This beautiful tallit was commissioned by a woman who’s daughter was about to be married to a man from the Gobi Desert. She wanted this tallit to represent both cultures.

We created 2 scenes. On one side of the tallit, we created a scene from the Gobi desert, with embroidered horses, and an appliqued yurt and mountains. On the other side we created a Jeruslaem scene, which was a combination of appliqued buildings and embroidered roofs.

Their names were embroidered on 2 of the corners, and on the other corners were a Mongolian poem and Ani l’dodi v dodi li in Hebrew (I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine).
