Adam’s tallit

Adam wanted a white tallit with accent colors that would remind him of camp – mostly blue for the lake and green. We found a beautiful blue, green and gold fabric with metallic gold running through it, and used it as a wide middle stripe surrounded by other solid accent colors – a deep teal blue, spring green and a gold. It was a stunning combination.

For the corners, we used a metallic gold thread to embroider onto the green fabric, that was bordered by the teal fabric. The atarah was only teal.

Adam had 8 corners: 4 on the outside, and 4 on the inside. The outside ones were his initials, his name, the date of his Bar Mitzvah, and his Torah portion embroidered in a Torah. The inside ones were of his favorite sports, and a note from his grandparents. His atarah, as requested by his grandparents, says “May you go from strength to strength” in English and in Hebrew.
