Howard came with his wife and daughter (Emily) so that she could pick out fabric for her tallit. While he was here, he said that he still wore the same tallit that he got for his Bar Mitzvah. and would like to design his own, too, if there was time. Amazingly, his daughter’s Bat Mitzvah date and parsha were the same as his had been 45 years earlier. His corners cleverly showed that. He chose a gorgeous soft wool tweed with a gold metallic thread running through it, and used a burgundy/black/gold stripe design. We therefore created gold on burgundy corners and atarah with black embroidery. His atarah had the L’dor Va for (generation to generation) prayer.
