Zoe’s Ladybug Tallit

Zoe and her mom sent me pieces of shirts that had belonged to Zoe’s dad and grandpa, who had both passed away, to incorporate them into Zoe’s tallit.

She wanted the body of her tallit to be an ivory dupioni silk. We decided to use the shirts as stripes, and made the stripes “pop” by bordering them with 2 colors from the shirts – a navy blue and a lime green. 

We used another shirt for a couple of inside corners, and embroidered a ladybug on one, something that had a very special meaning to Zoe.
