Leah’s traditional tallit
Leah had a vision of what she wanted her tallit to look like – unlike any I had made. She chose her fabrics, lace and ribbons, and designed the floral embroidery to be embroidered on her stripes. She knew that she wanted lace, but the white lace looked too stark, so we dyed it in tea to create the perfect matching shade. Also, she wanted a full sized tallit that she could fold over her shoulders with the stripes then going down her back.
Leah then took her tallit with her to Jerusalem, where she is starting her first year of cantorial school.
