Lilly’s Tallit

Lilly chose a traditional style tallit with a cream silk dupioni body and stripes of royal and navy blue.

Her corners and atarah were from a silver dupioni with gold metallic embroidery. For her corners she chose to have the names of her family members in Hebrew, the theatre masks, a scale of justice and a book with a pen – all beautiful symbolism of who she is.

She had a double atarah. On the outside one were the embroidered first words of the V’ahavta, with mountains and a wave on the ends.  On the inside atarah, she chose to have the blessing, her name and date of her Bat Mitzvah, and her Torah portion.
