Megan’s MLK tree of stars tallit

Megan was inspired by Ellie’s “Tree of Stars” tallit, but wanted to create her own version. 

Instead of an appliquéd tree with roots, Megan wanted an embroidered tree without roots. Because the tree, stars and text were all embroidered straight onto the fabric, the tallit was lined with a powder blue silk dupioni which hid the stitching on the inside, but also added another layer of color. There were 2 white stripes on the front, and powder blue corners and atarah to match the lining.
