Sam’s Twilight Tallit
Sam had a vision of what he wanted his tallit to be, and corresponded with me on his own. He wanted twilight or sunset colors in 3 stripes, each being 2 colors, on a white-ish, sky colored fabric. He chose a dupioni silk called Phantasm, as it reminded him of the white in the sky.
Sam also knew exactly what he wanted for his 8 corners (4 outside and 4 inside). He wanted the outside corners to be his Hebrew name, the date of his Bar Mitzvah, an oak leaf, and a sun half hidden by the horizon. On the inside corners that aren’t visible he wanted a soccer ball, a dog paw print, 5 dice all flipped to show a 6 on each one, and a heart with the word family. His corners were mostly silver or gray on white.
