Margalit’s Flowering Vine tallit

Margalit chose a silk dupioni that was finely woven with many shades of blues and purples to use as the body of her tallit. She then designed a flowering vine that used 2 colors of purple for the flowers, and a metallic gold thread for the leaves and flower centers.

We incorporated the same flower into 2 of her corners – the apron and the chai, and used many of the colors from her tallit in her Miriam corner and her Mt. Sinai/mountain corner. The corners and atarah were embroidered onto a lavender silk, bordered by a burgundy silk.

Her atarah, a quote from Mother Teresa, reads “Small things done with great love will change the world.” Margalit chose an elegant and feminine star of David to adorn the tips of her atarah.
