Allie’s oak tree tallit

Allie’s mom designed this gorgeous tallit for Allie’s college graduation. 

She wanted a Santa Barbara nature theme, as Allison loves to hike and misses the Santa Barbara mountains and trees since she’s been in school in the midwest.  Also, her Hebrew name is Alona – oak tree. We created a gorgeous tree with a few acorns and a chickadee.

Allie’s mom chose a cream dupioni silk for the base, and several beautiful green fabrics – dupioni and velvet for the tree and leaves. She also added burgundy and gold into her gorgeous embroidered corners. The tree and leaves were appliqued onto the back. 

Because there was not a design or stripes for the front, we added a wide band of green dupioni fabric to come down the front edges of the tallit.

It is quite elegant.
